This course explores how the Eco-Schools framework can provide a motivating context for the active participation of children and young people, and help your school reduce its ecological footprint. Eco-Schools puts children and young people at the heart of decision making thereby helping schools to provide excellent real-world, enquiry-based learning opportunities for pupils. We will envision what an Eco-School could look like, have a go at some activities that can be used with pupils to explore sustainability, evaluate skills pupils require for a sustainable future and guide participants through the most important aspects of the Eco-Schools Framework.
